Hon 2007
My
morning began early, so I could get my practice in before heading out to
Catonsville Hair Salon at 620 Frederick Road in Catonsville. Candace and her
bee-hive-isors were about to transform me into “YOGA HON!” A huge thank you to
Glen the owner for sponsoring my transformation, he is such a sweet-hon!
Upon arriving at HonFest 2007 onee Avenoo in Hampden (36th
Street, Bawlmer Murlin) I checked in at the main stage, making quite a stir wif
my beeyooteeful beehive! So many people asked me about it and were amazed that
Candace had never done one before! I met many other wunerful Hons, some in the
Bawmer’s Best Hon contest and some not, and lots of people asked to take our
pitcher or to have their pitcher taken wif us.
The contest started at 2 pm, wif 43 Hons, I was number 6. We
all sang (if you could call it that!) the National Anthem onstage and trooped
back off to come back one by one to state why we should be “Bawlmer’s best Hon”.
As the Yoga Hon, I got the crowd in touch wif air inner Hon by getting them to
chant wif me “OM HON!”
Tragically. I did not make the top 10. The competition was
very tough, the air was thick wif AquaNet, one contestant had come in an
amblance straight from Hopkins (so she said, the emcee said she was goin for the
sympathy vote) but I had a great time anyway. It took me six hours to comb out
the hair!
Time to get ready for next year’s contest. I plan to
‘ssessorize (lookin for a leopard print sticky mat and carry bag, maybe leotards
and tights too in case I make the top 10 next year). Make yer plans to come out
and cheer me on, Hon!
